Katie is a beautiful and delightful woman who unfortunately had really advanced wear of all her upper and lower teeth. The combination of the severely stained and chipped teeth, extreme wear, and excessive amount of gums showing compromised her smile and caused a collapse of the lower part of her face making her look older than she really was. Restoring her worn dentition required “opening” her bite by making her back teeth longer, first reversibly with a removable orthotic to make sure her muscles would be comfortable before restoring the lost vertical height permanently. It also required the services of a Periodontist (gum specialist) to help with the excessive gum show. We restored all of her teeth with bonded on all ceramic (E-MAX porcelain) restorations, and the result was absolutely fantastic. Not only has her smile been transformed, but her lower facial dimensions have been restored resulting in a restoration of her youthful profile. She reports that her “bite” has never felt more comfortable and she “loves her teeth!” It has been an absolute joy to work with Katie and I am personally so thrilled with the results.
